Hermès Birkin 30 Vert Cru & Orange H Gulliver Leather Gold Hardware - 1998

Nobody does color like Hermès, and the 1990's was the house's age of color enlightenment. The two most powerful shades to emerge from this formative era were also two shade that miraculously withstand the dulling effects of time: Orange H (Orange d' Hermès if you'd prefer. You may recognize it from the boxes?) and Vert Cru, also know as Granny or Apple green. Hermès knew these two colors were bangers and made a bold historical move in producing a very limited series of their classic bags pairing the two. Yet somehow this most absurd of combinations has become one of the most classic and instantly recognizable. This 30cm Birkin features the two shades in Gulliver leather (The vintage equivalent of Swift leather - Gulliver's Travels was written by Johnathan Swift, see what they did there?), and has been kept in exquisite condition. This bag is a prime example of this formative era in Hermès' history.
